Wedding Invitation Suites are an important component of the wedding planning process who's significance can be overwhelming or overlooked. Don't fret - I've found an affordable solution with stunning results!

I came across Wedding Paper DIvas which is a website that offers customizable, affordable and totally stylish invitation + print work pieces for all your event needs. After seeing the quality of their designs in person I decided this was the perfect solution for Muskoka brides who: 1.) Can't find a local stationary service 2.) Want magazine worthy style on a budget 3.) Want an invitation suite that is comprehensive + cohesive.

So I decided to become an affiliate of Wedding Paper Divas and over the next few weeks I will break up the components of your wedding invitations and accompanying print work to review important tips and inspirations to ensure your guests are left with a lasting impression - and not because they couldn't find the ceremony... or a hotel.

It all starts with a Save The Date...

I was recently at a dinner with a veteran corporate event planner, a custom linen designer, a lovely lady with two daughters getting married this summer. When the topic of Save The Dates came up there were a few scoffs at the idea as it was deemed frivolous by the other guests. I had to interject that with many engaged couples falling into the 25-35 year old demographic there is a big spike in weddings, baby showers, 30th birthdays and house warming invitations. One of my 2014 couples had attended NINE weddings that year, including a destination wedding and they were in the wedding party for a handful of them!

So, with that being said, I believe that Save The Dates (email or snail mail versions) are a simple way of ensuring your loved ones are available on your wedding day, in a time where calendars are packed with special occasions + To Do's.

Get Your Guests Buzzing...

Everyone loves getting an envelope in the mail that is a different colour or shape, has a hand-written address or a special stamp (read: it is not a utility bill). That's why I prefer sending a Save The Date the old fashioned way. However just because you're sending this fun announcement through the good old mailman, doesn't mean it has to be boring. There are lots of great options including Save The Date fridge magnets, coasters, postcards and an endless array of photo ops.

Here are a few options to get you started and hopefully inspired!

Keep in mind these designs are almost fully customizable including text, colours, paper finishes, photos (obvi) + even shapes! Also each of these designs comes with a corresponding invitation suite with a range of print elements including: invitations, RSVP cards, menus, ceremony programs, thank you cards, favour tags + belly bands.

Important last words...

Your Save The Date will be the first impression for your guests and it will make a statement as to the formality + style of wedding you will be hosting. If you're planning on a black-tie affair I would forgo the infographic or chalkboard options.

Also, don't forget that your engagement photos are perfect for Save The Dates! Consider planning a few curated shots specifically for this use and plan ahead so the photo is optimal for your graphic design.
